Gizmo's Goodbye

We decided as a family that we needed to find Gizmo a new home. For some reason Gizmo never liked Kyle and it brought a lot of tension in our house. We took Gizmo to experts at PetCo and but even after trying all their suggestions Gizmo was still terrified of Kyle to the point that it was affecting his health (and my carpet). In January Kyle found out he was allergic to dogs and that seemed to be the last straw. However, we raised him so we wanted to make sure he went to a good home which really worried me. One day as we happened to be looking at some puppies in the parking lot of Albertson's we met two older women who had a Sheltie Gizmo's age and were interested in a brother for their dog. We went to their house and interviewed them and they were PERFECT! They are avid dog lovers (who have many pictures of their other Sheltie on their wall), no men lived in the house and they wanted Gizmo despite all his problems. Kyle and I felt very good about having Gizmo live with them and since they live just up the hill from us we would be able to see how Giz was doing out in their yard. I miss him terribly but I know it's best for us as well as Gizmo.
