Tyler's Baseball Season 2010

Tyler was on his first baseball team the Blue Jays. It was a 3-4 year old team that unfortunately had many of the practices and games rained out. It was a good experience for him. Like most boys on the team it was hard to keep him focused on the game. He spent much of the game picking grass (bottom left). Since his last name starts with "A" he was always the last batter and as a result, after he hit he ran all bases as if he hit a home run. By the end of the season he was able to hit a couple balls being pitched to him rather than off the tee.
Alison was given a big lollipop after her dance recital and Tyler was so jealous. His mom promised if he worked hard at baseball then after his last game she would get him one. There were times he was sick of baseball and wanted to quit which she told him was fine but that he wouldn't get his lollipop. He kept going, ran the bases fast (which is a huge accomplishment for him) and even started hitting the ball when the coach pitched (rather than off the tee) which he told her afterward was so he could get his lollipop. Thursday after his game his mom fulfilled her promise and he got his sucker (middle bottom picture). He got home, took probably two licks then accidentally dropped it and it shattered all over the ground! Looking back it makes us laugh. He just looked at it while his mom held the dog back from eating it, but he didn't cry. He picked up probably 10 pieces that he was able to save and enjoyed eating that.
